Desert Breeze Publishing is an ebook publisher of romance novels in a wide variety of subgenres with the exclusion of erotica, erotic romance and GLBT. We invite anyone interested in working with us to review our full catalog for a representation of our house style, and to review our 'About Us' page to learn more about our company.

Any potential cover artist must meet the following requirements to be considered:

o    All cover art must be created using Adobe Photoshop, provided by the artist.

o    An intermediate to advanced knowledge of the editing options in Photoshop.

o    A strong understanding for the use of color, perspective, and balance to create mood in a visual setting.

o    Experience in graphic design.

o    Strong written and verbal communication skills, as all cover artists are required to work closely with both authors and editors, as well as the Marketing Director, who will have final approval of all cover art.

o    A willingness to work within the parameters established by the publisher, and a willingness to accept guidance in meeting those guidelines.

o    A willingness to work very closely with all parties involved to create a final product all parties are satisfied with, which may include creating more than one 'mock up' before the final cover art is approved.

o    The ability to meet deadlines as established by the publisher.

o    Workload will vary based on publishing schedule and artist strengths, with a potential workload from 1 to 4 covers a month.

o    Familiarity with the romance genre is preferred.

Any interested candidates should submit a cover letter in the body of an email, with the following attached:

o    A resume providing details of your work experience in graphic design.

o    A minimum of three (3) samples of your work in .jpg format, 72dpi minimum -- 300 dpi maximum.

In your cover letter, please elaborate on any details you would like us to know that may not be included on your resume. If you feel your strength lies with any particular genre or genres (although all artists would be required to work in all genres offered), please let us know and provide examples. Please provide any URLs where additional examples of your work may be viewed, as well as at least two (2) business references. Your references can be authors you have worked with or other professionals who can speak to your skills and experience. We prefer to be able to contact these references via email.

Applicants should forward information to PatrickDelaney@DesertBreezePublishing.com to the attention of Patrick Delaney, scheduling assistant to Jenifer Ranieri, Marketing Director.
